Google Hands Out “The Googlies” Awards

 

 

Rounding off a landmark year in Singapore which saw the opening of its local office and Southeast Asia hub here, Google last week handed out “The Googlies” awards at a Christmas party to thank local customers and supporters.

The Googlies awards were given to agencies and advertisers who have successfully and creatively leveraged Google’s advertising solutions to execute effective and memorable online campaigns.

The Emerging Advertiser Award went to Qais Consulting, paying tribute to this dynamic organisation which has embraced Google's advertising solutions and is using them effectively to drive growth within their business.

The Innovation Award went to Sony Electronics for its HD World Gadget Ad campaign. This award recognises an advertiser who has pushed the envelope and boldly gone where no advertiser has gone before. By daring to be different, Sony is the first advertiser in Southeast Asia to embrace Google’s latest ad format, Gadget Ads, which are interactive, rich media ad units that allow advertisers to engage with customers online to build deeper brand connections and effectively communicate product messages.

The Creativity Award went to Walt Disney Studios for Ratatouille. This award honours what can be achieved with a fertile imagination and the willingness to explore what drives people to search, or dare we say "Google" the advertiser’s product or solution. We tip our hat to Walt Disney for their style, flair and panache.

Nokia, for 5700 XpressMusic, won The Campaign of the Year Award because all the planets aligned to deliver the advertiser a result which exceeded their wildest expectations and delivered on its promise.

The Agency of the Year Award, which went to Mindshare Interaction, celebrates the wonderful partnerships that Google shares with all agencies throughout the Region. As the adoption of Google’s advertising solutions continues at an electrifying pace we would like to thank MindShare for its efforts to spread the word about the tremendous potential of search engine marketing and digital advertising.

And finally, The Advertiser of the Year Award went to Hewlett-Packard. This award pays tribute to the advertiser who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to search advertising and coupled the success of their business to this advertising phenomenon. They have behaved with confidence and leadership and have reaped the rewards of their convictions.
