Data center networking solutions provider Brocade has said that recent third-party research confirms the company's progress in expanding its role as a leading provider of solutions for evolving enterprise data centers.
Independent research firms Dell'Oro Group and The Synergy Research Group recently reported that Brocade has gained market share, while Certification Magazine named Brocade Certification Training as the most valuable among all IT certifications worldwide.
According to Dell'Oro Group's Third Quarter CY07 SAN Report, Brocade increased its data center footprint, gaining share in the overall Storage Area Network (SAN) market. The share gains were driven by a three-point increase in the SAN Director market segment.
The Synergy Research Group's SAN equipment Worldwide Market Share report corroborated the results. The research firm's Third Quarter CY07 report showed a 5.7-point market share gain for Brocade in the SAN Director space.
The December 2007 issue of Certification Magazine named the Brocade Certified SAN Manager (BCSM) certification as the most financially lucrative credential for IT professionals. Of the 95 leading programs recognized in the annual survey of more than 35,000 global IT professionals, Brocade Certified SAN Manager (BCSM) ranked first with certification holders reporting an average salary of USD 117,110. Two other Brocade certifications also landed in the top 10. The Brocade Certified SAN Designer (BCSD) certification ranked fourth and the Brocade Certified Fabric Professional (BCFP) certification claimed the number 10 spot.
"It's gratifying to see outside research that confirms our efforts are paying off for customers," said Tom Buiocchi, Brocade Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.
"We are committed to providing the innovation, value, and investment protection our customers need and expect."
On November 29, 2007, Brocade reported a record quarter for its SAN director products, citing strong demand for its flagship Brocade 48000 Director and a rebound in its Brocade M-Series director solutions. The company also recently announced that it will enhance the Brocade 48000 with 8 Gbit/second Fibre Channel technology, and that it plans to introduce an even higher-performance data center backbone platform in the first half of fiscal 2008. All of these products are part of the innovative Brocade Data Center Fabric (DCF) architecture strategy, a framework that helps customers evolve their data centers for higher performance, scalability, and flexibility with reduced cost and business risk. |
